Dr. Corey Foster Earns Cardiovascular Disease Board Certification

Dr. Corey G. Foster, Cardiologist with Cardiovascular Specialists, an affiliate of Imperial Health, has been awarded Board Certification in cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Board certification is a voluntary step in an intensive educational experience that recognizes that a physician’s knowledge, skills and experience integral to the delivery of high standards in patient care in their chosen field. They are required to meet rigorous standards through intensive study, self-assessment, skill demonstration and evaluation. This is Dr. Foster’s second board certification. He has previously been awarded board certified in internal medicine, and is board eligible for interventional cardiology, nuclear cardiology and comprehensive echocardiography.

 

 

A Lake Charles native, Dr. Foster earned a Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and a medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed a residency in internal medicine and advanced fellowships in the subspecialties of Cardiovascular Medicine and Interventional Cardiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Dr. Foster also received advanced training in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) for patients with valvular heart disease at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
